Terms of Service

Last updated: June 15, 2026

Welcome to The Kitchen Table (TKT). By accessing or using this site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What TKT is

TKT is an online membership offering recipes, meal plans, podcast episodes, written resources, and community discussion. It is created by Ryann Nicole, LPC, and Kasey Benavides, RD.

2. What TKT is not

TKT is educational and informational. It is not:

  • Therapy, counseling, or psychological treatment
  • Medical advice, nutritional counseling, or healthcare
  • A substitute for professional care from your own physician, therapist, dietitian, or other licensed provider
  • An emergency service or crisis intervention

While Ryann is a licensed therapist and Kasey is a registered dietitian, they are not your therapist or dietitian. Nothing on this site creates a clinical, therapeutic, fiduciary, or healthcare provider–client relationship between you and them. Conversations in the membership, including in Q&A sessions, group chat, comments, voice memos answered on the Lunch Hour, or any other format, are general education only.

3. You assume the risk

You agree that any decisions you make based on TKT content are your own. We do not guarantee outcomes, results, or that the content is appropriate for your specific situation. You consume this content at your own risk. If you are struggling with your mental health, eating, body image, or any other health concern, please work with a qualified professional who can assess your individual circumstances.

4. Crisis and emergencies

TKT is not equipped to respond to mental health emergencies. If you are in crisis, having thoughts of self-harm, or experiencing a medical emergency:

  • In the US, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
  • Call 911 or your local emergency number
  • Go to your nearest emergency room

If we encounter content from a member that suggests they may be in crisis or need a higher level of care than TKT provides, we may remove the content from the community and contact the member privately. We are not responsible for monitoring members for signs of distress and cannot provide ongoing support.

5. Community guidelines

The TKT community is moderated. The following are not permitted:

  • Harassment, judgment, hate speech, body-shaming, or attacks on other members
  • Diet talk, "before/after" comparisons, calorie counts, weight numbers, or content that could trigger disordered eating
  • Promoting your own business, products, services, or social media accounts (no self-promo)
  • Spam, advertising, or content unrelated to the community
  • Sharing of medical advice, supplement recommendations, or diagnostic claims
  • Posting another member's private information

Violations may result in content removal, suspension, or termination of membership without refund.

6. Our right to remove members

We reserve the right to remove any member from the community at any time, with or without cause, with or without prior notice or explanation. If we terminate your membership for a violation of these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund.

7. Member-generated content

You are responsible for any content you post — comments, voice memos, questions, photos, replies. By posting, you grant TKT a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, use, and share that content within the community and in TKT marketing materials. You can request your content be removed by emailing [EDIT — confirm email] jointhekitchentable@gmail.com.

We are not responsible for content posted by other members. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee any statements made by members in the community.

8. No professional advice

Information on TKT is general in nature. We are not providing personalized medical, psychological, nutritional, financial, or legal advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your health.

9. Payment and billing

Membership fees are charged monthly or annually depending on your selected plan. You may cancel at any time through your account portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial months or unused content.

10. Intellectual property

All content on TKT — recipes, podcast episodes, articles, designs, and materials — is owned by TKT and may not be copied, redistributed, sold, or used for commercial purposes without our written permission. Members may use the content for their own personal, non-commercial use.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TKT, its founders, and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the service. This includes any harm related to following recipes, applying suggestions, interpreting content, or interacting with other members.

Use of TKT is at your sole risk. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
